About Me

The Kids
The kids in March of 2007.

Born in the 70's... I don't feel my age (not that I'm old). I feel a bit like a kid still. Certainly don't feel grown up. Had a great childhood, graduated high school, graduated college, found a job, and got married somewhere along the way. Have since had more children than you can (legally) beat with a stick. The last of which was born just a few months ago (Dec '06). I say last, not just because he is the most recent... but truly the last, as we've figured out whats causing them... and are fixing that real quick.

The Family
The family at Dinosaur Valley in '05.

Like most folks I enjoy doing things outside. Camping, fishing, hunting, etc. I really enjoy archery as well, though I don't have much free time for it. Some folks think archery is a poor hobby. But I suspect its like playing golf (I'm not a golf player). Golf looks quite boring to me. You stand there, hit the ball... walk walk walk... hit the ball again, etc. Archery looks quite the same, if your not the one shooting. But theres a zen quality to it. You just get in a zone. Its fun. Then there's all the 3D shoots... where you compete out in the field and brush. You are shooting at 3D animals from unknown distances. Its a competition, highest score wins. Lots-o-fun.

Then there's computers. I really don't like computers. Really. Got a degree in CS, I can build and disassemble them, write and debug code in various languages, etc... but they are an eternal source of frustration. Not my computer so much as everyone else's. Well, maybe its not everyone else's computer... maybe its just everyone else. Hmmm. Either way, computers were the only choice for me really, as I've always felt I was too stoopid to learn anything else.

By day I wear a couple of hats at the office. Sr. Software Engineer and Network Engineer. I work on cad software, product data management, and others.... I keep our office's LAN/WAN on its feet. All in the Windows world. Been doing it for quite some time.... but my hearts not there anymore. I find *nix to be more interesting and fun. I try to incorporate it and other oss products into my workplace, but the head of IT has a ban on "Free Software". Go figure.
